Sacramento
Regional Science & Engineering Fair
March 23-24,
2012
Rosemont High
School
Judging at the Sacramento Regional
Science & Engineering Fair
The 16th Annual Sacramento
Regional Science & Engineering Fair (SRSEF) will be held March 23-24 at Rosemont High School in
Sacramento.
In order to execute the largest science and
engineering fair in the region, SRSEF is entirely dependent on service
minded educators, scientists, mathematicians, and engineers who volunteer
their time as judges. It is a rewarding experience, both for our judges
and for the students, and we hope you will consider registering as a judge
for the Fair.
Judges are expected to attend a mandatory
orientation Friday, March 23 at 6:00 p.m. that will include a free dinner
catered by Griselda’s Tex Mex. Orientation will provide judges with
an explanation of the guidelines and evaluation criteria for judging
projects and a review of the judging score sheets. Judges will also
receive their project assignments and be given the opportunity to do a
preliminary review of projects. Judging will commence Saturday,
March 24 at 8:00 a.m.
Register for Judging
Please complete the
online judging registration application by Monday, February 20
to participate in the Fair. You can also
download the
application and return by fax at 916-442-4182.
After we receive your application, we will
contact you with additional information about the event.
If you have any questions about being a
volunteer judge please contact the SRSEF office at 916-441-3150.
Judging Guidelines & Evaluation
Criteria
The judging system
closely parallels the system used at the Intel International Science and
Engineering Fair (ISEF). The guidelines allow students the opportunity to
interact with judges and prepare for the judging at the ISEF should they
advance. The SRSEF judging guidelines and evaluation criteria are
available for review by visiting
http://srsefair.org/Headings/General_Information/judges/JudgingGuidelinesEvaluationCriteria.pdf.
Please read them carefully.
