Can you do a science fair project even if your school doesn't have a science fair?

Yes, of course!

All the materials that you need for the Sacramento Regional Science and Engineering Fair can be found here on the website. Everything that teachers receive can be found here! So, don't let your school's non-participation stop you from doing a project!  It's well worth the effort! Besides scholarships and awards, Sacramento Regional Science and Engineering Fair winners are invited to the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair !

What do you need to do? You need to be sure that your project meets all the rules and regulations to be eligible for screening. If it fails to meet any of the regulations, it cannot compete in the Sacramento Regional Science & Engineering Fair.  Most projects can be started without prior approval from the Fair's Scientific Review Committee (SRC).  However, projects involving humans, vertebrate animals, recombinant DNA, tissues, microorganisms or potentially hazardous biological agents or hazardous chemicals, activities or devices all require prior approval.  If you have questions, contact us at ljohnson@Sacramento Regional Science and Engineering Fairair.org.
